This property is two blocks from the beach on Broadway Street. Broadway Street is the main street in Galveston, the street has three lanes going each way and is tree lined. There are huge palm trees lining the street in front of the Fassler Building.
I bought this building a few years ago; at one time it was the Boulevard drug store and soda fountain. When I bought the building, everything in the soda fountain was at it appeared (add in lots of dust) in 1967, down to dirty glasses in the soda fountain sink. The Soda Fountain closed in 1967.
I painstakingly renovated this property, it is beautiful. The downstairs housed my law office, however, Hurricane Ike relocated my office.
The one bedroom loft apartment is available for your vacation rental. The loft features oak hardwood floors, Persian carpets, antique subway tiles, art deco architectural details, and a full kitchen with everything you need to make a gourmet dinner.
One-Bedroom Loft. This is an open and bright apartment; it will easily accommodate a small family of 4-6. The loft has a fully equipped kitchen and a large bathroom.
The bedroom is furnished with a queen-size four poster bed, plus the living room has a queen-size futon. There are solid antique oak floors and art deco architectural details.
There are separate dining and sitting areas. The loft has huge windows to let in the gulf breeze. The bedroom has a queen size four-poster bed with a feather-bed mattress for extra comfort. The bed and bath linens are wonderfully soft and luxurious.
Spacious two bedroom loft/apartment on the second floor of a historic two story arts/crafts style (castle style) brick building on Broadway Street. Two blocks from the Beach and four blocks from UTMB hospital. The loft is furnished with attractive and comfortable furniture, quality linens and paper products for your comfort. I added a huge deck last year.
The two bedroom will accomodate 6-8 people. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second has bunk beds. There are cots at the loft for extra sleeping arrangements and the living room has a convertible bed.
The loft was renovated two years ago, central air and heat, electric and plumbing were all updated to today's standard, however, all the 1930's details were restored. For example, subway tiles and a huge iron tub in the bathroom, oak hardwood floors, butler's pantry and huge french doors.
